Frontera Jewelry is seeking an experienced silversmithing & sales assistant to join our small, independent jewelry studio. This role is a mix of hands-on bench work, behind-the-scenes studio support, and customer interaction in a collaborative, creative environment. All work will take place in our quaint and creative shop & studio in Downtown Durango.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in the fabrication of our jewelry designs, including sawing, soldering, forming, texturing, polishing, assembling, and basic stone setting
- Safely using a torch and micromotor in the fabrication process.
- Helping keep the studio running by monitoring materials and supplies, restocking packaging, cleaning, and maintaining a clean, calm, and organized space
- Preparing, packaging, and shipping online orders
- Sharing the Frontera experience with customers: helping them discover their dream piece, supporting custom designs, and embodying the heart of our brand
- Most importantly, having a damn good time creating meaningful art in a beautiful studio surrounded by rad humans
Who we’d love to work with:
- Someone with silversmithing experience and a love for detail and craftsmanship
- A reliable, team-oriented, self-motivated person who can take initiative and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- A friendly, approachable presence who enjoys connecting with customers as much as working at the bench
- Someone with knowledge of gemstones (though we’re more than happy to teach you this realm if it’s new to you!)
Time commitment:
- This position is part-time, averaging 20-25 hours per week, with the possibility of growth. Our hours are 11-5 or 11-6
- We’re looking for consistent help 3-4 days a week between Tuesday-Friday and 2-3 Saturdays a month.
- We deeply value work-life balance; scheduling is done well in advance to try to cater to everyone’s personal needs with our production needs
- Its appreciated if longer trips (more than 1 week) be taken January-April.
Pay & Benefits:
- Starting $18-22 an hour depending on experience and skill set
